About the Lake Blue Ridge Weather Station

Personal Weather Station

Most of northgeorgiaweather.com's data are derived from a personal weather station (Davis Vantage Pro 2 Plus) located on the shoreline of North Georgia’s beautiful Lake Blue Ridge in the mountains of Blue Ridge, Georgia.

Lightning Indicator

There is a Boltek lightning detector mounted to the attic of the lakehouse; it plugs into a PCI card on the server and records strikes from hundreds of miles away.

Uploads

With JavaScript enabled, most conditions are updated at 5 second intervals. The long-range forecasts, weather warnings, and radar data are fed via NWS, HAM Weather and NOAA condition reports. This weather station also feeds weather data to Weather Underground, Anything Weather, and the Citizen Weather Observer Program (CWOP/APRS). This site is updated by Weather Display and WeatherLink software.

SkyCam

The weather station's "sky cam" is mounted to the same pole as the weather station, so you're seeing the weather that it 'sees'. A new sky cam image uploads every ~10 seconds.
